Community rules and enforcement

Many of our players are teenagers. These rules keep the platform fair and safe. They are part of our Terms of Service, written so everyone can understand them.

Last updated: October 11, 2026

The rules

They apply everywhere on Nameless Esports: match chat, lobby chat, direct messages, profiles, team and community pages, team finder posts, review comments and names.

1. No bullying, harassment or threats

Trash talk about the game is fine. Going after a person is not: no threats, no targeting someone again and again, no telling anyone to hurt themselves.

  • Threatening someone, in a match or outside it
  • Telling someone to kill themselves (including "kys")
  • Following someone around the site to insult them

2. No hate speech or slurs

No attacks on people for their race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, disability or where they are from. Slurs are never okay, even as a joke.

  • Slurs in chat, names or bios
  • Hateful symbols or references
  • Saying a group of people is less than human

3. Keep language respectful

Strong language happens, but insults aimed at a person, spam of abuse, or language meant to upset people breaks this rule.

  • Repeated insults at another player
  • Abuse aimed at staff or organizers

4. No sexual content

This is a platform used by teenagers. No sexual messages, images, links or jokes, anywhere.

  • Sexual messages or links
  • Asking someone for pictures
  • Sexual usernames, team names or bios

5. Keep young players safe

No grooming, no asking minors to move to private apps, no sharing or asking for sexual images of anyone under 18. We report this to the police and to child protection bodies.

  • An adult pushing a minor to chat privately or meet up
  • Sharing or asking for sexual images of a minor

6. No content that encourages self-harm

No encouraging suicide, self-harm or eating disorders. If you are struggling, talk to someone you trust or a helpline.

  • Encouraging someone to hurt themselves
  • Sharing methods of self-harm

7. Do not share private information

Never post someone's real name, address, school, phone number or photos without their permission.

  • Doxxing (posting where someone lives or goes to school)
  • Sharing private messages to embarrass someone

8. Be yourself

Do not pretend to be another player, a team, an organizer or Nameless staff.

  • A username that copies a pro player or staff member
  • Claiming to be an admin to get someone's account

9. Play fair

No cheats, scripts or exploits, no playing on someone else's account, no smurfing to dodge rank, no fixing results.

  • Using aim assist software or macros
  • Account sharing or boosting
  • Agreeing a result in advance

10. No spam or scams

No ads, repeated messages, phishing links or tricks to get people's accounts or money.

  • Posting the same message again and again
  • Fake giveaways or links that ask for a password

11. Nothing illegal

No content that is illegal where you or the people seeing it live, such as terrorist content, selling illegal goods, or content that breaks someone's copyright.

  • Terrorist or violent extremist content
  • Pirated games or stolen accounts

12. Follow the event's rules

Organizers set rules for their events (check-in, conduct, schedules). Breaking them can get you muted or removed from that event.

  • Ignoring an organizer's instructions in match chat
  • Breaking an event's published rulebook

13. Other breaches of the Terms of Service

Anything else our Terms of Service do not allow.

  • Using the site in a way the Terms forbid

How we moderate

  • Reports. Anyone signed in can report a player, team, message, post, comment or community page with the Report button. The person you report never learns who reported them.
  • An automated word filter. Chat lines, names, bios, team finder posts, review comments and community page text are checked against a list of slurs, sexual terms and threats. A flagged chat line is held: only you and the moderators can see it until a moderator reviews it. Flagged names and posts are refused with a message so you can edit them. The filter never bans anyone on its own.
  • People decide. Warnings, removals, mutes and bans are decided by our trust and safety team or, for their own events, by event organizers.
  • Illegal content. Anyone can tell us about illegal content, even without an account, using the illegal content notice form. We report child sexual abuse and threats to life to the authorities.

What can happen if you break a rule

  • A warning.
  • A message, post, comment or page text is removed.
  • A mute in one event's match chats.
  • A block from one event, from every event an organizer runs, or from a community's events.
  • A suspension from Nameless Arena (no registering, joining teams, chatting or reporting results), for a set time or permanently.
  • For the most serious cases, closing the account.

Whenever we restrict you, we tell you in a notification (and by email if you cannot sign in): what was restricted, which rule, whether the automated filter was involved, how long it lasts and how to appeal.

How to appeal

You can appeal each decision once, within 6 months, from the notice or from Settings, Appeals. Tell us why you think it was wrong. Someone who did not make the original decision reviews it where possible, and we tell you the outcome. If we got it wrong, we undo it: unmute, unban or put the content back.

You can also write to safety@namelessesports.com. If you live in the EU you may use a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body or go to court. In the UK you can complain to us, and raise wider concerns with Ofcom. Contact details for authorities and users are on our points of contact page.

Staying safe

  • Block anyone from their profile or a conversation. They will not be told.
  • Deleting a conversation removes it for you only. The other person keeps it, so nobody can delete evidence you might need to report.
  • If someone is in danger right now, call your local emergency number first.
