Rocket League Tournament Rules Template
A Rocket League tournament rulebook needs to cover rosters, check-in, lobby settings, series length, disconnects, forfeits, proof and disputes. Below is a short template you can copy, edit for your event and paste into your event's rules. Keep the rules short: players read short rules.

1. Eligibility and rosters
Edit the numbers to match your event.
- Teams have 3 starters and up to 2 substitutes (2v2 events: 2 starters, 1 substitute)
- A player may be on only one team in this event
- Rosters lock when check-in opens; changes after that need organizer approval
- Players must have a Nameless account with their Epic or Steam name on their profile
2. Check-in and start times
- Check-in opens 30 minutes before the start and closes 15 minutes after it
- Teams that do not check in are removed from the bracket
- Be ready in the match room when your match is called; a team that is not ready within 10 minutes forfeits the match
3. Lobby settings
- Private match, the higher seed creates the lobby and shares the name and password in the match room
- Region: the region agreed by both captains; if they cannot agree, the organizer decides
- Arena: any standard competitive arena; default mutators; 5 minute games; unlimited overtime
- Team size: 3v3 (or 2v2), no bots
4. Series length
- All rounds best of 3
- Upper and lower bracket finals best of 5
- Grand final best of 7; if the lower bracket team wins, a reset grand final is played
5. Disconnects and pauses
- If a player disconnects before a goal is scored and within the first 60 seconds, the game is restarted
- After that, play continues; the player may rejoin
- Each team may pause once per game for up to 5 minutes for a technical issue
6. Results, proof and disputes
- The winning captain reports the score in the match room and attaches screenshots or ballchasing.com replay links
- The losing captain confirms; an unanswered report is confirmed automatically
- Disputes must be opened before the next match starts, with proof
- Organizer decisions are final
7. Conduct
- No cheating, smurfing, account sharing or exploiting bugs
- No harassment, hate speech or threats in chat, voice or Discord
- Breaking these rules can mean a forfeit, removal from the event or a ban from future events
Frequently asked questions
- Where do I put tournament rules on Nameless Arena?
- Each event has a Rules page in the console for the full rules, plus short match rules (up to 4,000 characters) that every team sees inside the match room.
- Should Rocket League tournaments allow substitutes?
- Usually yes, one or two. Substitutes keep teams from forfeiting when a player drops out. Say whether a substitute may come in between games or only between series.
- What series length should the grand final be?
- Best of 5 or best of 7. Longer finals reward the stronger team and make a better show if you stream it.
- Can I enforce roster limits automatically?
- Yes. On Nameless Arena you set the number of starters, the maximum substitutes, whether a full roster is required, and a roster lock time, and the Arena checks them for you.
